Although the rates of Coronavirus infection in Germany are still lower than other parts of Europe, yet they are accelerating.

Today, the German Health Minister Jens Young tested positive to Coronavirus; he was placed in quarantine after announcing his infection.

the German Ministry of Health announced that Health Minister Jens Young underwent a test to detect Coronavirus, and the results came positive. NTV, a private German news channel, was the first to spread the word.

The ministry stated that Young put himself in home quarantine immediately. According to the ministry, the conservative politician from the Christian Democrats suffers from cold-like symptoms and that those in contact with him have been informed.

The ministry also added that "The meeting of the Federal Council of Ministers takes into account the health and social distancing rules, with the aim of ensuring that quarantine is not necessary for other participants or even all participants in the event that a participant in the meeting is confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus at a later time."

The ministry's spokesman had urged Germans to adhere to social distancing rules in order to keep infections at a manageable level. He said early this month that Germans were facing a "Themselves" to contain the sudden rise in the number of coronavirus cases.

This comes at a time when the Robert Koch Institute for Contagious and Non-Contagious Diseases stated that despite the fact that infection rates in Germany are lower than other parts of Europe, they are accelerating, since Germany had a daily record of 7,830 cases on Saturday.
