Germany Honors Azer For National Achievements

Today, Germany honored Engineer Dr. Hani Azer, presidential adviser for transport affairs, and the honorary president of the ‘Egypt Can’ Foundation, in recognition of his achievements.

Dr. Azer is to receive ‘Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany’, created by the first President of the Federal Republic, Theodor Heuss, on 7 September 1951, and has been awarded to over 200,000 inpiduals in total, both Germans and foreigners.

On her part, the Minister of Immigration Ambassador Nabila Makram who is scheduled to participate on Friday’s ceremony expressed all pride and appreciation for the achievements of the ‘Egyptian geniuses proving the excellence of Egyptians in all fields’.

She stressed that Dr. Azer is a leading pioneer in engineering and the owner of exceptional talent which has been reflected in creative touches in many projects.

German media reports said that Azer played a great role in upgrading railway lines in 2006 during  the World Cup.  Earlier, he received the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin in 2006.
