The German police received a call from a woman, who said that an "unknown animal" had broken into her house. After arriving at the house, the police discovered that it was nothing but a giant crab.

According to the lady's account, she tried to open the door of her house in Freiburg, southern Germany, and in a moment a large Chinese lobster (25 centimeters= 10 Inches) slipped from the balcony through the open door.

Freiburg police said Thursday that they had received a phone call to report an "unwanted animal" that had broken into a house in the town of Unterluchingen, near the Swiss border, on Wednesday morning.

The woman explained that she was able to lock the crab under an upturned garbage bin, before the arrival of the police, who managed to put the mitten crab in a container and then transferred it to a local veterinary clinic.

This type of lobster is native to Asia, but it is presently found in many rivers in Germany, worth noting that the woman's home is not far from the Rhine.

The Chinese mitten crab is not considered a dangerous crustacean, although it has not been reported in the area before.
