Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said that strengthening commercial and industrial cooperation between Cairo and Khartoum contributes to advancing joint economic cooperation with various African countries, which in turn leads to achieving regional economic integration, rates of trade and investment, as well as the exchange of expertise.

Gamea’s comments came on Friday during her participation with the Sudanese Minister of Trade and Industry Madani Abbas Madani in the activities of the first Egyptian-Sudanese Business Council.

She added that the government is keen to activate the role of the Egyptian-Sudanese Business Council in promoting commercial and economic relations between the two countries.

"The holding of the first Business Council meeting amid the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic reflects the common desire of the Egyptian and Sudanese business communities to establish joint cooperation projects," she emphasized.

The minister pointed out that the two countries have great opportunities and capabilities to enhance trade and industrial cooperation through the optimal use of the great economic foundations of the two countries to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) for the peoples of the two neighboring countries.
