Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, stated that Turkey is pursuing expansionary policies that undermine security and stability in Libya and the region.

Shoukry's statements came in a television interview with the Egyptian “CBC” channel, yesterday, Sunday.

He commented on the statements of the Turkish President’s advisor, Yassin Aktay, in which he revealed a “Turkish-Egyptian” affinity.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister pointed out that Cairo is monitoring Ankara's actions.

He stressed that the policies that Turkey is implementing through its presence in Libya, Syria, Iraq, and the eastern Mediterranean all refer to policies aimed at destabilizing the region.

Noteworthy, the Turkish Ministry of Defence announced that its forces have conducted a search and rescue exercise off the coast of Libya on Friday.

Turkey supports the internationally recognized Government of National Accord based in the capital Tripoli, led by Fayez Al-Sarraj.
