FM Hails 'Deep, Close' Ties Btw Egypt, Malaysia

Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry affirmed the 'deep and close' ties between Egypt and Malaysia.

 

In a joint press conference with the Malaysian counterpart Hishamuddin Hussain, Shoukry expressed Egypt's keenness to activate all mechanisms of bilateral cooperation and political consultations between both countries and to hold the joint economic committee and businessmen forum as soon as possible.

 

 

Moreover, FM shed light on Hussain's meeting with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, earlier today. During the meeting, they discussed ways to boost bilateral ties as well as Egypt's view towards various international and religious issues.

 

 

In addition, Egypt's top diplomat praised the economic boom witnessed by Malaysia nowadays, stressing that Egypt is taking steadfast steps regarding the economic reform program, to provide a suitable atmosphere for development.

 

It is worth mentioning that, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hishamuddin Hussain arrived in Cairo earlier today, in a two-day official visit.

It is considered Hussain’s first visit to Cairo, since his appointment on March 10, 2020.

Malaysia and Egypt enjoy close and vibrant relations, supported by substantive cooperation notably in the areas of trade, investments, education, tourism, and religious affairs.

Egypt is Malaysia’s largest trading partner in North Africa.
