Production began on Egyptian stars Nelly Karim and Mohamed Ramadan‘s new film “Ala Zero”.
Karim announced the news on Facebook alongside sharing a photo of a clapperboard, and captioned: “First day of shooting ‘Ala Zero’.”
The film is scripted by screenwriter Medhat El Adl, directed by Mando El Adl, and produced by El Adl Group.
It features various genres including drama, action, and romance.
Karim is also collaborating with Mohamed El Adl and Medhat El Adl in the upcoming Ramadan 2023 drama marathon.
She is set to present a Sa’idi series — a project set in Upper Egypt—for the first time.
Karim participated last Ramadan in the social drama TV series “Faten Amal Harby“.
It also starred Fadia Abdel Ghany, Mohamed Al-Tagy, Wafaa Amer, Sherif Salama, Mohamed Tharwat, Mohamed El Sharnouby, and others.
The series is scripted by writer and journalist Ibrahim Eissa and directed by Mando.
The series also features Karim’s husband Hisham Ashour and rising actor Tayam Amar.
The series consists of 12 episodes and is set to debut on the “Shahid VIP” streaming platform.
“Rose and Layla” was written by British author and screenwriter Chris Cole and directed by British filmmaker Adrian Shergold.
The series is a blend of genres that range from black comedy, action, suspense, and adventure.
“Rose and Layla” is centered around two investigators who are hired to stop a major bank fraud from happening.
Karim will next be seen in the TV series “Waed Iblis” (Devil’s Promise).
It also stars Amr Youssef, Aïcha Ben Ahmed, Ahmed Magdy, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Paula Patton, Yacob Alfarhan, and others.
“Waed Iblis” consists of 6 episodes and is directed by Colin Teagu.
“Waed Iblis” is set to debut on the “Shahid VIP” streaming service on September 16.
