FC Lorient Sings with Benjamin Mendy

Former Manchester City star Benjamin Mendy signed for a new club, a few days after he was declared not guilty in the latest allegations of rape and attempted rape.

French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient announced they signed Mendy, saying in a statement: "The club is pleased to announce today the signing for two seasons of French international left-back Benjamin Mendy."

"After passing a medical examination, Mendy comes to reinforce the team for this new season."

Mendy was declared, Friday, not guilty of raping a woman and attempting to rape another.

Mendy was accused of attacking a 24-year-old woman at his mansion in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire in October 2020.

In addition, he was accused of the attempted rape of another woman two years before.

Earlier, The French international was cleared of six accusations of rape and one sexual assault in January.
