Jury Members of Farouk Hosny Foundation Award Cast Votes

The Jury members of Farouk Hosny Foundation Award for Arts held a meeting on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the main headquarters in Al Zamalek district.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Alya Abdel Hady, Former Dean of Fine Arts Faculty, Prof. Ashraf Reda, Vice Dean of Fine Arts faculty, Prof. Hussein El Shaboury, Former Technical Advisor to CIB Group, Visual Artist, Samir Fouad, and Prof. Ehab Al-Labban, Director of Arts Complex.

During the meeting, Jury members reviewed about 453 artworks and cast their votes based on a number of criterias including:

1- Authenticity: It should not be an adapted work

2-Creativity: To be a new and innovative idea

3-Aesthetic value (composition - colors - texture): linked to the ability to achieve the foundations of design

4- Excellence: The technical work should be of superior quality in comparison to other works submitted.

The jury praised the persity of artworks presented by young artists, whether professionals or amateurs, noting that the collection includes classical, influential, realistic, abstract, surreal photography schools.

The artworks approved by the jury and received the highest total scores will be displayed in a group exhibition, set to be held from January 21 to 31, 2020.

The award consists of a medal and a cash prize worth EGP 50,000. The finalists also will receive certificates of appreciation.

Noteworthy, Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts was inaugurated on September 29, 2019.
