Farewell Farouk Al-Feshawi!

Egyptian veteran actor, Farouk Al-Feshawi passed away earlier Thursday at the age of 67 after a brief but brave battle with cancer.

 

The late actor's funeral will be held today, after the noon prayer at Mustafa Mahmoud Mosque in Mohandessin, Cairo.

 

Al-Feshawi's health had deteriorated recently, which led to being admitted into a hospital.

 

Details regarding the consolation marquee have not been revealed yet.

 

‘Life and Career’

Al-Feshawi is an Egyptian theatre‏،‏ cinema and TV actor. He was born on February 5‏،‏ in 1952. The late actor graduated from the faculty of Arts and from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.

 

 

He rose to stardom when he co-starred in TV series “Abnaa’y al-a’ezzaa shokran” (My dear children..thank you) and in film “Al-mashbooh” (The suspect) co-starring Adel Emam.

 

The late actor co-starred in more than 100 TV series, among his most notable roles are “Alf leila we Leila” (One thousand and one Nights)، “Al-haawy” (The magician)، “Aly al-Zeibaq”، “Domou’ saahebat algalaala” (Her majesty’s tears)، “Laylat al-kabd ‘ala Fatma” (The night Fatma was arrested)، “Zeynaat wal-talat banaat” (Zeynat and the three daughters)،and  “Canaria wa shorakah” (Canaria and Co.).

 

Among his stage plays are: “Al-dokhaan” (Smoke)، “Tharthara fawk al-neel” (A Drift on the Nile) and “Bedaaya wa nehaaya” (The Beginning and the End).

 

His career included “king Farouk”، “beggers” and a variety of roles in between.

 

During the 1980s and the 1990s, he was the most productive movie star.

 

The late actor was not just a professional actor known for his outstanding artistic career, or for his handsome features, as he was considered as one of the attractive actors in the Middle East.

 

He enriched the entertainment industry with eternal masterpieces and left behind a repertoire consisted of 270 artistic work.

 

‘Personal life’

He married several times. His first wife was actress Somaya El Alfy‏،‏ mother of his only son actor Ahmad Al-Feshawi .

 

He also married actress Soheir Ramzy.

 

‘His last station'

The late actor has been receiving treatment at his home during the last weeks, but he was recently admitted into a hospital in a critical condition.

During his hospitalization, many celebrities had called fans to pray for him.

 

‘The last appearance'

The late actor made his last public appearance at the funeral of late actor Ezzat Abu Ouf, who passed away earlier this month.

 

Meanwhile, his last artistic work in “King Lear” play opened on April 10, 2019, at the Marquee Theater، in New Cairo.

 

The play is directed by Tamer Karam, and co-stars a large number of stars including Yehia El Fakharany, Heba Magdi  ، Rania Farid Shawki، Riham Abdel Ghafour، Tharaa Goubail , Mohamed Farag، Ahmed Fouad Selim، and Nasser Seif.

 

 

‘Cancer Revelation’

 

The later actor announced in 2018 that he has been diagnosed with cancer during his honoring at the Alexandria Film Festival‏،‏ on October 4.

 

In his speech, he surprised the attendees and his fans by announcing that he has been diagnosed with Cancer، yet he promised that he will resist this disease، and that he will attend next year to congratulate the honorees at The Alexandria International Film Festival.

 

The audiences of the festival applauded sharply after his speech, who in turn bowed to them.

 

 

Many stars were keen to offer their support in prominent actor‏،‏ Farouk Al-Feshawi's cancer battle including actress Ayten Amer‏،‏ TV presenter Mustapha Al Agha‏،‏ actor Mostafa Shaban‏،‏ poet Ayman Bahgat Kamar‏،‏ actress Nashwa Mustafa‏،‏ director Kamla Abu Zekri‏،‏ and TV host Neshan.

 

Moreover, Al-Feshawi's cancer announcement had shocked his fans‏ who sent him messages, wishing him a quick recovery.

Many celebrities and fans took to social media to express their condolences and mourn the late actor.

Veteran actor, Imam posted a photo of himself with the late actor on his official "Facebook" page a picture of him in the late star, with the comment "Condolences on the death of great artist Al-Feshawi ."

 

Moreover, Actors' Syndicate had also mourned his death on its official "Facebook" page.
