Expert Warns of Global Food Crisis by Autumn, Energy Shortage

The Russian expert, Lazar Badalov, warned that the world may face a food shortage by next autumn, which may exacerbate the situation, in addition to the crisis of the high cost of energy resources.

Badalov, a professor at the Russian government's Finance University, said that sanctions against Russia are not only harming Russia, but also European countries themselves, as well as countries in Africa and the Middle East.

"Now many politicians in the West are trying to pin the problems of their economies on the situation around Ukraine, and not on sanctions against the Russian Federation, otherwise they will be forced to admit guilt for the problems that have arisen," he added.

He explained that "At the present time, the oil and gas market has received a major blow. Prices are reaching, if not historical levels, then they are reaching their peak.
