During the press conference, El Fakharany stressed on the need of returning the spirit to TV festivals and his happiness at the state's enthusiasm for this festival and with the jury members.

The acclaimed actor noted that drama in Egypt is necessary and shared his hope the festival grows every year.

"It is Egypt’s right and duty to present this festival. This is the zero edition because we are experimenting with it. We are ambitious to have a global section for dramas like Netflix in Egypt," he added.

In line with the direction of Egypt Vision 2030 to focus on art and culture as one of Egypt’s power pillars, the festival is scheduled to be held annually on September 21.
