Osama Rabie, the head of the Suez Canal Authority, revealed on Sunday that two-meters have been excavated in the Suez Canal for helping to release the "Ever Given" container, adding that the vessel moved for four meters in two directions.

In addition, he greeted all countries which want to combine forces with the state to release the container.

On the other hand, Rabie told Extra News morning show "Haza El Sabah" that the third scenario of releasing the vessel is on the table, although, it would require more international help to execute it.

The third scenario of releasing the "Ever Given" means relieving its weight by moving all the containers on the ship to smaller vessels.

The head of the Suez Canal Authority highlighted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the concerned authorities for moving to the third scenario for helping in freeing the ship as soon as possible.

In addition, Sisi is following the updates of the crisis gradually and he provides the working teams with his recommendations.

On Saturday, Rabie said that the rudder of the stranded vessel "Ever Given" was released and moving 30 degrees in both directions.

During a call-in with TV anchor Ahmed Mousa on Sada El-Balad channel, He added that the ‘tide is high and we benefit from it in the towing and dredging work.

The head of the Suez Canal Authority indicated that the work to release the container ship, which carries over 20 thousand containers, continues daily and throughout the 24 hours, through operating tugboats, and dredgers.

“We are currently working with 10 tugboats and two dredgers, using push and pull techniques,” he added.
