ETA Resolves 30,000 Tax Disputes Worth EGP 30 Billion

Saeed Fouad, head of the central administration in the office of  the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) said that more than 30,000 tax disputes worth EGP 30,276 billion have been resolved.

Fouad added that there have been cases of tax disputes in the courts for more than 5 years and it was necessary to issue a decision to resolve them.

He explained that the disputes committee aims to achieve tax justice between the taxpayer and the tax authority, noting that 22,642 disputes have been resolved regarding Egyptian taxes related to income and value-added and another 7,490 real estate cases.

The head of the central administration pointed out the the ETA managed to collect taxes worth EGP 30,276 billion after settling thousands of disputes.

He indicated that the remaining disputes may reach another EGP 30 billion, adding that there is a law that will soon be issued to extend the deadline for submitting disputes applications until December 31.
