On Wednesday, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan asserted that the "two-state" solution is the only way to end the long-stand Cyprus crisis.

He also asked the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to accept such a solution as a way to peace in the Mediterranean.

Erdogan highlighted that idea of establishing a federation would not be included on the agenda of upcoming discussions.

Greece and Cyprus officials agreed early this month to establish a peace deal for the state's Mediterranean dispute is setting an agreement based on UN resolutions.

Greek Prime Minister (PM) Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that Greek and Turkish officials are likely to resume talks next month, in an effort to resolve the maritime disputes between the two neighboring countries.

In exclusive statements to “Reuters”, Mitsotakis said, “I expect within the next month, at some point end of February, beginning of March. It’s a good step in the right direction.”
