Egypt’s Ministry of Endowments announced that 43 mosques will be opened while 15 other mosques will be inaugurated following renovation works today, Friday, in 9 governorates.

The ministry stressed that these openings represent the most effective response to the evil groups that accuse Egypt of demolishing the mosques, which is completely baseless.

On August 29, Egypt’s President, Abdel Fattah El Sisi responded to these accusations at the inauguration ceremony of a national project in Alexandria.

“We demolished 30 mosques, but we rebuilt them for the national interest and development — not because of what they had accused us of,” Sisi said.

The number of new mosques that have been built in six years exceeded 1,200 ones, while 3,600 mosques have been renovated and reconstructed, at a financial cost of more than 3 billion pounds.

Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, Minister of Endowments, said that the ministry exerted strenuous efforts during the era of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to build and re-construct mosques.
