Egypt’s Ministry of Endowments announced that 25 mosques will be opened today, Friday, in 6 governorates. The ministry opened 383 mosques during September and October, 2020.

The ministry stressed that these openings represent the most effective response to the evil groups that accuse Egypt of demolishing the mosques, which is completely baseless.

On August 29, Egypt’s President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi responded to these accusations at the inauguration ceremony of a national project in Alexandria.

“We demolished 30 mosques, but we rebuilt them for the national interest and development — not because of what they had accused us of,” Sisi said.

The number of new mosques that have been built in six years exceeded 1,200 ones, while 3,600 mosques have been renovated and reconstructed, at a financial cost of more than 3 billion pounds.

Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Gumaa, Minister of Endowments, said that the ministry exerted strenuous efforts during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to build and re-construct mosques.
