Emirati Police Officer Al Raisi Elected President of INTERPOL

Emirati police commander Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi was elected today, Thursday,  president of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) for a 4-year term.

The page of the General Assembly of the organization announced through its official account on "Twitter" the news of the election of Al-Raisi.

Raisi will manage the work of the organization, which is headquartered in Lyon, France, for a period of 4 years as president.

Al-Raisi was chosen, during the eighty-ninth meeting of the General Assembly of the International Organization in Istanbul, Turkey, today.

Maj.  Gen.  Al Raisi has held the position of Inspector General in the UAE Ministry of Interior since 2015, and was a member of the Interpol Executive Committee, representing the continent of Asia during the past three years, according to what was published by the Emirati "Al Bayan" website.
