Egypt's Ambassador to Cyprus Mai Taha Khalil on Saturday held a reception to mark the anniversary of July 23rd July 23rd Revolution.
President of the Cypriot House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris, Cypriot Defense Minister Savvas Angelides, Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Vassiliki Anastasiadou, and senior officials were in attendance.
Addressing the guests, Angelides hailed the deep-historic ties binding Cairo and Nicosia, thanking Egypt for its support at all regional and international events.
The Cypriot minister pointed to the tripartite cooperation with Egypt and Greece, voicing Cyprus's full support to Egypt at all European and international events.
On her part, Khalil reviewed challenges which Egypt faced since 1952 and the development efforts currently carried out by the government.The ambassador thanked Nicosia for its support.
She also pointed to bilateral cooperation ties, the latest of which Egypt - Cyprus electricity connection agreement, and linking Aphrodite gas field to Egypt's liquefaction plants for re-exportation to export gas to Europe.
