The Egyptian Embassy in Algiers issued 4,386 visas for the Algerian fans since the beginning of 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

These visas included more than 2,500 visas over the past three days which preceded Algeria's match against Nigeria.

Egypt's Ambassador to Algeria Ayman Moshrafa decided that the embassy and its consular department would continue their work during the last weekend to issue visas for fans who want travel to Cairo, especially after the Algerian government's announcement operating nine charter flights to Cairo.

It is worth mentioning that the embassy had issued 1,200 visas in 18 hours only on the eve of Algeria's match against Côte d'Ivoire in the quarter-finals. Algeria, before the match, operated five charter flights to Cairo.

Moshrafa welcomed the Algerians in their second country, stressing that the embassy does its best to issue the visas.

Earlier on Sunday, the embassy congratulated the Algerian team for reaching AFCON final.
