Turkish Reports said on Friday that the Egyptian midfielder Mohamed El-Neny would take part in Besiktas' Clash against Gaziantep in the Turkish league on Sunday, September 15.

"El-Neny is getting ready to make his first appearance with Gaziantep on Sunday, September 15 against Gaziantep," Fanatik newspaper reported.

The Egyptian midfielder, who joined Besiktas from Arsenal, showed up in the Turkish club's training session for the first time on Wednesday, September 5.

He joined the Turkish club on a season-long loan coming from Arsenal, including an option to make the transfer permanent from the Gunners.

El-Neny joins Besiktas

Elneny, who joined Arsenal in 2016 coming from FC Basel for £5 million, failed to book his place in the Gunners’ starting eleven, particularly since the arrival of new coach Unai Emery.

The 27-year-old player participated with the Egyptian national team in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but the Pharaohs suffered a shock defeat from South Africa in the last 16 to exit the tournament.

He also led his national team to advance to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, held in Russia, where he participated with Egypt in their three clashes in the group stage.

Besiktas played three games in the Turkish league, as they managed to pull off the victory in one and lose the other, while they held a 1-1 draw against Rizespor in the third round of the league before the international break.

Besiktas were placed in Group K in the Europa League, alongside Braga, Wolves, and Slovan Bratislava.
