El-Molla Meets Italian Companies Representatives during "EGYPS" Conference

Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources met with representatives of Italian companies participating in the 5th Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2022), in the presence of the Italian Ambassador in Cairo, Michele Quaroni.

The Minister shed light during the meeting on the most prominent elements and opportunities in the fields and activities of the petroleum sector in research and exploration, the petroleum refining and petrochemical industries, as well as energy efficiency and projects to cut carbon emissions, pointing to the application of modern technologies to achieve a qualitative leap.

He added that this major transformation in the sector's work system and the important economic reforms implemented by the state leave a positive impact on attracting more investments and make Egypt investor-focused.

El-Molla pointed out that the expansion in the industry and programs for the use of natural gas comes within the framework of efforts to achieve the transformation in the field of energy, pointing out that projects of energy efficiency and decarbonization of fuel provide good opportunities for Italian companies in Egypt.

On his part, Quaroni said that Egypt is a promising and large market and has become a regional energy hub, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation relations with Egypt in the field of energy, adding that the participation of 49 Italian companies in the EGYPS conference, which is the largest of its kind for Italian companies in the events hosted in Egypt.
