El-Ahly steamrolled through Zamalek in the first half of the Egyptian Super-Cup at Burj El-Arab on Friday, scoring two goals in a rather one sided match. Most spectators thought that the White Giants would thrive in today's match, but the Red Devils attacking strategies seemed superior.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) permitted 10,000 fans to attend the Egyptian Super Cup, after Zamalek Chairman Mortada Mansour refused that 40,000 fans attendance due to fear of a riot occurring between the fans.

Junior Ajaye opened the scoring for El-Ahly 19 minutes into the first half after a beautiful shot found it's way into the Zamalek net, from then one the White Knights tried desperately to rebound but with no avail.

Hussein El-Shahat added the second goal for El-Ahly in the 46th minute, after a misplaced pass by Abdel-Shafy striking it into the far left corner adding his team's second goal.

A small fight was going to take place minutes away before the first half ended, as Shikabala expressed his frustration towards some officiating decisions, but veteran player Ahmed Fathy went to calm things down as the half ended.

The Red Devils have the upper hand over the White Knights during their clashes in this tournament as both teams faced each other five times before. Al Ahly won four confrontations, while Zamalek won only one game during their clashes in the tournament.
