Egypt's Sam Morsy Leads Ipswich Town to Premier League

Egypt international Sam Morsy, Ipswich Town captain, led them to historic Premier League promotion to be the first Egyptian star to do so.

Ipswich Town fulfilled their dreams of returning to the Premier League as they captured the second automatic promotion spot from the Championship.

Their 2-0 victory over Huddersfield on Saturday secured their promotion to the Premier League after 22 years of absence.

Ipswich, last seen in the Premier League in 2002, finished as the runner-up behind Leicester with 96 points.

The 32-year old Egyptian international played a role in Ipswich's campaign, featuring in 41 championship matches this season. 

He contributed two goals and six assists to the team's success.

Morsy joined Ipswich Town in August 2021 from Middlesbrough and was appointed as the club's captain a month later.
