On Saturday, the Egyptian House of Representatives (HoR) decided to renew its confidence in the government headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly and approve a cabinet reshuffle that included 13 ministerial portfolios.
The new ministers are:
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education
Hani Atef Nabhan Swailem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation
Dr. Khaled Atef Abdel Ghaffar Mohamed, Minister of Health and Population
Mohamed Ayman Ahmed Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
Soha Samir, Minister of Immigration and Egyptians Abroad
Ahmed Issa Taha Issa Abu Hussein, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities
Ahmed Samir Saleh, Minister of Trade and Industry
Lieutenant-General Mohamed Abbas Helmy Hashem, Minister of Civil Aviation
Hassan Mohamed Hassan Shehata, Minister of Manpower
Nevin Youssef Muhammad Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture
Major General Hisham Abdel Ghani Abdel Aziz Amna, Minister of Local Development
Mahmoud Mustafa Kamal Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector
Mohamed Salah El-Din, Minister of Military Production
This came during an extraordinary session of the House of Representatives, today, Saturday, headed by Egypt’s parliament speaker Hanafi Gebali, to discuss the cabinet reshuffle, which was called by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
President Sisi said, “I invited the House of Representatives to convene on Saturday to discuss a reshuffle that includes a number of ministerial portfolios.”
“The upcoming cabinet reshuffle aims to develop the government’s performance in some important files on the domestic and foreign levels,” he added.
The President noted, “The important files that the Cabinet reshuffle will be carried out to serve to contribute to protecting the resources and interests of the state and directly touch the services provided to citizens, for which we all work.”
