Egypt's Modern Pentathlon Champion Ahmed Elgendy Snatches Bronze

Egyptian modern pentathlon champion Ahmed Elgendi snatched the bronze medal at the World Cup that is taking place in Hungary.

After collecting 1492 points, Germany's Christian Zillekens won the gold. With 1489 points, Valentin Prades achieved silver. Elgendi accumulated 1483 points.

Another Egyptian player who competed at this prestigious event was Islam Hamed. With 1452 points, he finished eighth.

About Ahmed Elgendy Previous Victories 

Elgendy's victories during 2018 were numerous including winning gold at the World Junior and the World Youth Championships. He was also named the Best Junior Player by the International Modern Pentathlon Federation.

However, his most remarkable triumph in 2018 was at the Buenos Aires Summer Youth Olympic Games, after he won the boys inpidual’s gold and the mixed relay competitions’ gold (along with China’s Gu Yewen).

He started 2019 with receiving the Mohamed bin Rashed Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award, for his achievements from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2018.

Alongside with Haidy Adel, the Egyptian duo drove Egypt to the mixed relay competitions’ gold after they accumulated 1432 points at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup that took place in March 2019, at the Platinum Club, Egypt. In addition, Elgendy snatched this tournament’s gold at the men’s inpidual games.

At the African Modern Pentathlon Championship qualifying for the Tokyo’s Summer Olympic Games 2020, which was held in February 2019 at the Platinum Club,  Elgendy won the men’s competition.
