Egypt's Hotels Obtain Health, Safety Certificates

Tourism and Antiquities Ministry had announced that 687 hotels received the health and safety certificates needed to resume operation.

These hotels are located in the governorates of South Sinai, Red Sea, Luxor, Ismailia, Greater Cairo, Marsa Matrouh, and Fayoum in addition to six in the South Sinai Governorate, including five hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Moreover, two  hotels in Luxor, namely Jolie Ville and New Radwan, in addition to the Crocodile Hotel in Ismailia, have also been awarded health and safety certificates. The certificates are approved by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Health and Population, and the Egyptian Hotels Association (EHA).

In the past two weeks, 20 hotels received the approved health and safety certificate, according to Abdel Fattah Al-Assy, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Supervising Hotel and Tourist Facilities.

Al-Assy said: ''The inspections committees are continuing to monitor other places that have applied to obtain the certificate.''

Noteworthy, tourism  activities in Luxor and Aswan were resumed in early September, with floating hotels were allowed to resume work on  October 1.
