Appointing eight female ministers, in addition to other deputy ministers in the new cabinet reshuffle announced on Sunday is a good sign that the coming period will witness further empowerment of women in Egypt.

I’m so happy to see such a big number of women in the new government. We all clearly noticed the great efforts of female ministers in the previous government in solving a number of intractable societal issues.

I know that the process of selecting the candidates is not made according to gender, but it is based on skill and experience.

I will give an example of a very active female minister ‘Nabila Makram’ who managed to bring the Egyptian communities outside Egypt together, engage them in the political life inside the country and help them to solve any problems facing them abroad, in addition to making all Egyptian expatriates feel that they are at the hearts of their homeland.

With regard to Rania Al-Mashat, the active minister, who has developed a new concept in promoting Egypt and was able to restore Egyptian tourism to its golden age.

I’m sure that she will prove great success in the Ministry of International Cooperation, which is a difficult file, but she can overcome all difficulties

As for the beautiful Minister Ghada Wali who really deserved her international position as Executive-Director of the United Nations, leaving her position as minister of social solidarity for another woman named Dr. Nevin Kabbaj who has sufficient experience in this field.

Meanwhile, Dr. Nevin Jameh, who has been recently named Minister of Trade and Industry, has made great successes in the field of micro، small and medium enterprises, making her the most suitable candidate for the position.

I also should never miss congratulating Dr. Hala El-Saeed on her re-appointment as minister of planning and economic development, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, as Minister of Environment, Dr. Hala Zayed, as Minister of Health and Population, and Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, the Minister of Culture.

I will also mention the recently appointed female deputy ministers, Ghada Nabil and Ghada Shalabi who have won the confidence of their heads that they are capable of assuming the responsibility of meeting people's needs.

Finally, I want to thank President El-Sisi and Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli for their confidence in Egypt’s women, who always have unforgettable contributions in their homeland’s progress.
