Egypt's Food Industry Exports Increase to $4.1 Billion

The value of Egypt's food industry exports increased in 2022 to about $4.124 billion, achieving a growth rate of 0.5% compared to $4.102 billion, year-on-year, with a growth value of $22 million, according to the report of the Export Council for Food Industries.

In December 2022, exports amounted to about $291 million, compared to $304 million, year-on-year, a decrease of 4%.

Exports to Arab countries topped the list of the most important international groups importing Egyptian processed foods during 2022, with a value of $2067 million, representing 50% of total food exports, with a decline of 7% and a value of decline of $159 million, followed by the European Union with a value of $829 million, an increase of 31%. It accounts for 20% of total exports.

Exports to non-Arab African countries amounted to $300 million, representing about 7.3% of total exports, with a decline in the value of exports amounting to 26%. The United States of America amounted to $277 million, representing about 6.7% of total exports, achieving a growth rate of 24%. The rest International groups with a value of $651 million, which represents 16% of total exports, achieving a growth rate of 6% compared to exports in 2021.
