Egyptian actress Elham Shahin won the Best Actress Award for her role at "Curfew" by Amir Ramses.

The film is directed by Amir Ramses, and starring Elham Shahin, Ahmed Magdy, and Amina Khalil.

The story of the film takes place in 2013 on the day Fatin is released from prison.

Her daughter, Layla (Amina Khalil), and her husband, Hassan (Ahmed Magdy), are there to pick her up, but it’s soon clear that all is not well between them.

The tense atmosphere is accentuated by the curfew forcing Layla to accommodate her recently released mother for a night.

It is one of the three Egyptian films that participate at the CIFF International Competition alongside “About Her,” and “Lift Like a Girl.”

This edition of CIFF kicked off on 2 December and it witnessed the participation of 84 films.
