Former UK Prime Minister Theresa May; David Malpass, president of the World Bank Group; and Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the IMF will be among the key attendees of the forum.

The GWFD will gather over 100 global leaders and experts, who will engage in a constructive dialogue on the advancement of women.

More than 3,000 delegates from 87 countries are expected to attend workshops and sessions, including five dedicated plenaries, throughout the two-day conference.

The forum, in its second session, discusses policies and initiatives that enhance the positive impact of women in all fields, and ways to increase their social and economic participation, especially in the entrepreneurial sector.

During the forum, Dr. Al-Mashat will present her successful experience in the Egyptian government as the first woman to take over the Ministry of Tourism in January 2018 and what has been achieved in the tourism sector through the launch of a number of structural reform programs to develop the tourism sector. This led to a 40% increase in the number of tourists since she assumed the Ministry of Tourism in January 2018, achieving the highest dollar revenues in the history of Egypt.

The minister will also highlight the Egyptian state's efforts to politically, economically and socially empower women, pointing out to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s initiative for women empowerment 2030, which aims to make women a basic partner in the sustainable development strategy.
