Egypt's Agricultural Exports Record $1.9 Bln in 2021/22 Season

The value of Egypt’s exports of agricultural crops witnessed an increase of 11.1% during the first 8 months of the 2021/22 export season, to record about $1.909 billion, compared to $1.718 billion, year-on-year, with a growth of 10.5%.

The report issued by the Agricultural Crops Export Council indicated that the total quantities exported from the sector decreased during the period from September 2021 to April 2022, to record about 3.112 million tons, compared to 3.247 million tons, year-on-year, down 4%.

Egypt's Agricultural Exports to the Arab World

The Arab countries accounted for 38% of the value of Egypt’s exports of agricultural crops during the first 8 months of the 2021/22 season, at about $722.89 million, and 43% of the total volume of exports by about 1.336 million tons.

Agricultural Exports to UK and EU

The exported quantities of Egyptian agricultural crops to European countries outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, recorded about 733,53 thousand tons, valued at $439,342 million, accounting for 23% of the total value of exports, and 24% of the quantities.

The value of Egyptian agricultural crops exports to the EU reached about $432,833 million through the export of 592,581 thousand tons, accounting for 19% of the total exported quantities and 23% of the value of exports.

Exports to Asia

The value of agricultural crops exports to Asian countries amounted to about $259,867 million during the period from “September 2021-April 2022” by exporting 386,581 thousand tons, accounting for 12% of the total exported quantities and 14% of the value of exports.

Africa

Egypt exported agricultural crops to African countries by about $22.495 million through 36,077 thousand tons, and to the countries of the “Northern and South” Americas and Australia about 27,172 thousand tons, at a value of $31.162 million.
