Min. of Foreign Affairs Announces Final Date for Elections Abroad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs contacted Egyptian expats abroad in order to fulfill all the necessary procedures for the upcoming complementary parliamentary elections . The areas in which the elections will be held are the Giza district, and the Malawy district in Menya.

This is in the context of continuous cooperation and coordination with the National Elections Authority and in connection with the Authority receiving a notification from the House of Representatives that two seats in the Council are vacant.

Then it was announced by the President of the Authority Lashin Ibrahim, on Sunday, December 22, 2019 who called for the start of complementary elections in the House of Representatives next February. Two seats in the council were empty because their occupants died.

The ministry stated that the Egyptian communities abroad were assigned to start communicating with the Egyptian expats in the accredited countries, which are entitled to vote in the departments concerned with complementary elections, and to start forming the subcommittees of Egypt's 140 overseas election headquarters in 124 countries.

In addition to taking all measures to provide the appropriate atmosphere for conducting the voting process as easily as possible for citizens, as expected that, according to the regulations governing the voting process, Egyptian missions will receive Egyptian citizens to vote on Friday and Sep 7 and 8 February 2020, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm local time.
