Egyptian Tourist Convoy to Head to Spain Next June

Mohammed Othman, Head of the Cultural Tourism Marketing Committee in Upper Egypt announced that there is a suggestuon to organize a "roadshow" tourist convoy in Spain next June.

This came during a meeting they held with Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt Ghada Shalaby during her recent visit to Luxor.

During the meeting, they discussed the vision of the tourism sector and demands for marketing and promoting the Egyptian tourist destination during the coming period.

Othman said that the Committee is keen to listen to the ideas and proposals of investors on how to promote Egypt in tourism abroad.

He pointed out that the proposal was to organize a "roadshow" tourist convoy in Spain next June, with the aim of stimulating the incoming tourist movement in the cities of Luxor and Aswan

Othman explained that the Spanish market is one of the most important export markets for cultural tourism.

The head of the cultural tourism marketing committee stressed the need to develop marketing and promotional plans for cultural tourism after the Coronavirus outbreak, in which investors and civil society will participate. He added that the plan should be short and long-term.

He explained the agenda of Luxor's events and how to benefit from them for tourism promotion was presented.

Othman revealed that Luxor will host the activities of the African Film Festival at the end of next March. He said that it will shed light on cultural tourism and called for organizing a major celebration during the opening of Al-Kabbash road, and to exploit the archaeological discoveries announced by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to promote tourism abroad..
