Egyptian-Russian Foundation Releases Abdel Bassir’s “Secrets of Archaeology”

On the occasion of Cairo International Book Fair, the Egyptian-Russian Foundation for Culture and Science released "Secrets of Archeology: Tutankhamun, Pyramids and Mummies" book written by Egyptian archaeologist Dr. Hussein Abdel Bassir, the director of the Antiquities Museum at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Dr. Hussein Al-Shafei, President of the Egyptian-Russian Foundation for Culture and Science says, "This book comes at a very important time as it answers many important questions, as well as explains the magic, beauty and secrets of the civilization and treasures of Ancient Egypt, especially the secrets of the golden pharaoh “Tutankhamun”, the great Egyptian pyramids and charming Egyptian mummies.”

The author of the book, Dr. Abdel Bassir says: "Ancient Egypt was discovered following the discovery of the Rosetta Stone,” adding that the discovery of the ancient Rosetta Stone is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in the history of humanity as it represents an important key in uncovering the symbols and secrets of the ancient Egyptian language.

Noteworthy, Hussein Bassir is an Egyptian archaeologist, novelist, and writer. In 1994, he got his BA in Egyptology from Cairo University. He got his MA and Ph.D in Near Eastern Studies from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, United States.

He has held many positions at home and abroad. Bassir is also the author of several works of fiction in Arabic on ancient Egypt such as: In Search For Khnum, The Love in Tokyo and The Old Red Hippopotamus.

The novelist worked as a member of Dr Zahi Hawass’ archaeological team alongside Justin Ellis and Gregory Peters while participating in many archaeological excavations in sites all over Egypt.
