Mahmoud Fawzi, Secretary-General of House of Representatives confirmed Tuesday that Egyptian Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal invited his Libyan counterpart to a meeting in Cairo. This confirms Egypt's keenness on the unity and safety of the Libyan state and people.
“Egypt always and forever works for the unity of the Libyan ranks and the unity of the Libyan state," Fawzi added. "Therefore, in light of the continuing Libyan crisis, Abdel Aal called on Aguila Saleh to hold talks with a number of Libyan representatives in order to restore harmony among all Libyan representatives.”
He explained that Saleh accepted the invitation and there is ongoing coordination to set a date for this meeting. Fawzi noted that this invitation aims to achieve integration and consensus among members of the Libyan Parliament in all parts of the country.
Fawzi confirmed that the Egyptian Parliament speaker gave his Libyan counterpart the right to invite any member of the Libyan Parliament.
