The new frigate will join the fleet of Egyptian Naval Forces, which has witnessed recently a massive technological leap in the armament system and combat efficiency, in line with the cutting-edge global systems.

Port Said frigate is deemed one of the key naval combat ships 100-percent Egyptian manufactured by the Alexandria Shipyard Company, in cooperation with Naval Group, a major French defense and industrial contractor, designer and overall integrator of whole warships and combat systems.

The frigate is capable of carrying out various combat actions and is also distinguished by an integrated combat monitoring system against ships, planes, and submarines, and all this has been reflected in the complexity and accuracy of the design and the quality standards required to be achieved in its manufacture.

Meanwhile, Khaled asserted the support of the political leadership of the country to implement a full strategy to develop and to modernize the Egyptian navy’s forces to boost security and stability in Egyptian territorial economic waters.

It is worth noting that Egypt, over the past six years, managed to manufacture various types of weapons and military vehicles, including Temsah-3 and vehicles ST-100/ST-500, the armored vehicle Fahd-300, and the modified Egyptian 13 mm gun M-46.
