Tourism Min. Discusses Final Preparations Procession Royal Mummies

Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, held a meeting with the company executing the process of transferring royal mummies from the current place of their display in the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the place of their permanent display in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.

The process of transferring will take place in the midst of a majestic royal procession befitting the greatness of the ancestors and the unique heritage of Egyptian civilization.

During the meeting, the executing company reviewed the scenario of the transportation process and the removal of the royal procession of mummies and all the artistic elements and decorations that will be implemented inside the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization to receive the procession.

This will also include the paintings and materials that will be used during the transport process to decorate the streets and squares along the route, the music accompanying the procession and other technical elements.

The concept of removing the starting point of the procession from the Egyptian Museum with editing, the arrival point and receiving mummies at a permanent display place in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization was also discussed.

It is worth noting that the number of mummies that will be transferred is 22 royal mummies; they include 18 mummies for kings, and 4 mummies for queens, including the mummy of King Ramses II, King Sqnin Ra, King Thutmose III, King Seti the First, Queen Hatshepsut, and King Merit Amon, wife of King Amenhotep the First, And King Ahmose-Nefertari, wife of King Ahmose.
