Egyptian Boat Released after Entering Saudi Territorial Waters

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that Saudi Arabia has released an Egyptian fishing boat that it had detained after entering its territorial waters illegally.

The boat, called Al-Shefa'a, had 35 Egyptian fishermen on board when Saudi authorities detained it after illegal fishing in Saudi waters.

"The Saudi authorities responded to the Egyptian consulate's requests and offered supplies and fuel to return the boat," the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that the boat left Saudi waters on Tuesday after the weather had stabilized.
