The two hashtags “Support the Egyptian Army" and "The Egyptian Army", topped the list of the most heavily circulated on the social networking site Twitter.

The twitterers use these hashtags in order to support the Egyptian armed forces in the face of any attack threatening Egyptian national security.

The activists expressed their solidarity with the decisions of the Egyptian army and their support for all the steps that you will take for the safety of Egypt and preserving the security of its people.

The activists said: "The Egyptian army is one of the greatest global armies and we trust its capabilities to defeat all the aggressors."

They added: "We are all with Egypt against the brutal Ottoman occupation of Libya ... long live Egypt."

On Thursday, the Egyptian Parliament cautioned on the repercussions of Turkey's proposed military intervention in Libya due to the threat to Egyptian national security and Mediterranean stability.

The Egyptian House stressed that Egypt will not stand idle while watching such irrational and irresponsible behavior, and will defend its national security and the interests of its neighbors, and will take all necessary measures to confront these unacceptable threats and behaviors, the parliament said.

As the Turkish parliament approved a bill earlier on Thursday allowing Turkish troops to be dispatched to Libya despite international condemnation, the Egyptian parliament condemned the "illegitimate" memoranda of understanding signed between Turkey and the so-called Fayez al Sarraj National Accord Government of Libya, which the House said harbors terrorist militias fueling conflict in the west.

Noteworthy, the hashtag of the Egyptian army was used in Arabic as #الجيش_المصري
