After his meeting with Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah on Friday, Egyptian Ambassador Tariq Al-Kuni expressed his deep regret and his complete rejection and denunciation of the offensive remarks issued yesterday, Thursday, by an Egyptian official at the Ministry of Manpower.

The Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait stressed that what happened was nothing but an inpidual act that does not definitively express the reality of the relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.

Moreover, he noted that Egypt greatly appreciates the leadership, government and people of Kuwait and its leaders, according to a statement published on Friday by the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait and published on its official Facebook page.

Kuni explained that the Minister of Manpower had immediately begun an investigation with the official in the ministry, adding that all necessary measures will be taken against him.

Al-Jarallah announced Friday that the Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait had been summoned, “in the wake of the offensive remarks that were issued yesterday evening, by the assistant of the Egyptian Minister of Manpower.”

The Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Qabas” stated that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs “conveyed the country’s condemnation, resentment and rejection of such offensive remarks and from an official that targeted Kuwait and its symbols.”
