Egyptian Amb. to South Korea Attends Opera Aida Promo in Seoul

Egypt's Ambassador to South Korea Dr. Hazem Fahmy attended the promo of Opera Aida as a guest of honor on Wednesday.

 

The promo was held in one of Seoul's largest theaters.

 

The show is scheduled to be presented at the Hatshepsut Temple in Luxor in October.

 

A huge turnout from the Korean audience attended the ceremony. The heroine of the show was Korean singer Im Seik Young; she will be also the the heroine of the opera Aida in Luxor.

 

The ceremony included the display of pictures of Egyptian pharonic temples.

 

The turnout prompted the organizers to decide to repeat the show with greater expansion next year.

 

The ambassador and his wife presented a number of papyrus paintings to the show's performers at the end.

 

Noteworthy, about 4,000 tourists from worldwide are expected to attend the show on October 26 and 28.

 

The show will witness the participation of a galaxy of global opera singers, like Belgian star Mickael Spadaccini with experience in the role of the Egyptian Commander Radames, the Korean star Sae-Kyung Rim as the Ethiopian Princess Aida, as well as Czech star Eliska Weissova in the role of Amneris, and Greek artist Aris Argiris in the role of the Ethiopian king Amonassro.

 

Also, nearly 80 musicians from Lviv National Philharmonic of Ukraine will play during the show in addition to 70 others from the National Choir of Ukraine “DUMKA.”

“The historical show gathered several Egyptian and global stars,” Mohamed Osman, a member of the Tourism Marketing Committee in Luxor told MENA.

 

Opera Aida is not only a unique art show, but it also gives a big push to the Egyptian economy and tourism and is a great opportunity to attract art tourism through organizing more similar shows in Luxor’s temples during the winter season,” Osman stated.
