Egypt Welcomes political framework agreement in Sudan

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Arab Republic of Egypt welcomed today, Monday,  signing  the political framework agreement on the transitional period in the sisterly Republic of Sudan, stressing that this agreement is an important and pivotal step for laying the principles related to governance structures in Sudan.

Egypt affirmed its full support for the agreement, expressing its readiness to cooperate with the various Sudanese parties in their efforts in order to reach a final agreement that fulfills the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people, and enhances Sudan's role in supporting peace and stability in the region and the African continent.

The Arab Republic of Egypt expressed its sincere wishes that the agreement marks the beginning of a new phase of stability and prosperity for the Sudanese people, in light of the historical ties linking the two brotherly countries.

 On this occasion, Egypt calls on the parties of the international community to provide all elements of support to the sister country of Sudan, in a way that enables it to pass the transitional phase successfully, and to achieve the interest of the Sudanese people of all sects.
