In response to the shocking discovery of mass graves at a medical complex in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, has issued a stern condemnation of the ongoing breaches of international law and human rights.
Ambassador Abu Zeid expressed dismay and outrage at the continuation of such flagrant violations in the 21st century, witnessed by nations and international bodies worldwide, including the United Nations and the Security Council. "It is deplorable and shameful that such violations of international law and humanitarian values are occurring so blatantly," stated Abu Zeid.
He also strongly condemned the repeated Israeli violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza, which have affected unarmed civilians, displaced persons, and medical staff. He reiterated the urgent need for international intervention to halt these violations and for necessary investigations to ensure accountability and justice for the perpetrators.
Adding to the crisis, Abu Zeid highlighted the recent surge of killings, destruction, and violence in the West Bank, which poses an equal level of crudeness and danger. This escalation exacerbates the crisis and threatens to destabilize the entire occupied Palestinian territories. He called for an immediate cessation of violence and attacks by settlers under the protection of Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians and their properties in the West Bank.
