Egypt to Receive 1.7 Million Doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine

Egypt is set to receive within a few hours, a shipment of about 1,700,000 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, the CEO of the Egyptian Company for Antisera owned by the Holding Company for Antisera and Vaccines (VACSERA) revealed. 

 

In press statements, Wali added that establishing a Coronavirus vaccine factory, with all its equipment and German-made production lines will cost more than half a billion pounds.

 

Moreover, She added that Egypt will receive the first shipment of raw materials to manufacture the Chinese Sinovac vaccine next May 18th.

 

On Sunday, Egypt's Health minister Hala Zayed stressed that no new Coronavirus variants have been found in Egypt so far.

 

Moreover, Zayed noted that the epidemiological situation in Egypt is stable.

 

Last Tuesday, the Ministry of Health urged Egyptian citizens to start registering online in order to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.

 

In a statement, the ministry stressed that the vaccine is ‘safe and effective.

 

Egypt’s Health Ministry assured on Monday that sufficient stocks of oxygen are available in all isolation hospitals designated for COVID-19 patients across the republic.
