Egypt to Receive 1.6 Million Doses of Pfizer Vaccine from US Soon

Egypt will receive 1.6 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer from the United States as part of the COVAX initiative.

On Friday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 869 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 316711.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 17884 nationwide after the ministry announced 38 deaths.

About 911 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 267355.

Egypt plans to vaccinate 40 million citizens by the end of the year, representing around 40% of the population.
