On Thursday, Egypt’s Health Ministry indicated that the first 60 million doses of the Chines Sinovac vaccine will be locally manufactured next month, according to domestic reports.

The head of the General Department of Preventive Medicine Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah said the first batch of coronavirus doses will be available in Egypt in the coming month, affirming that 60 million doses will be manufactured and produced by the end of June through the domestic pharmaceutical firms.

Moreover, Abdel Fattah announced that the first batch will be supplied to several regions of Egypt soon.

Egypt's medical centers and hospitals providing the Covid-19 vaccine across Egypt have been ready to receive the public,  Abdel Fattah spoke to the 'Eluom' TV program on the extra news channel.

The official added: "This includes the new medical center in the Fair Zone which is designed to have the capacity to vaccinate 10,000 citizens per day."

As soon as the batches arrive, the Ministry of Health will start calling on the public to take the vaccine which will be available free of charge, according to the General Department of Preventive Medicine.

According to an official statement on May 25 by Egypt’s Minister of Health Hala Zayed, she mentioned that pharmaceutical private firms will be allowed to manufacture vaccines that are 90 percent safe and effective.

“Only one in 10 citizens is at the risk of blood clots that may be linked with certain covid-19 vaccines,” the statement added.
