Egypt's U-19 will clash against Slovenia in the last 16 of 2019 Men’s Youth World Championship on Wednesday, August 14.

The Pharaohs made an impressive performance during the tournament after they qualified for the knock-out stage as Group B winners. They were pooled in Group B alongside France, Sweden, Chinese Taipei, Canada, and Hungary.

The African Champions finished first, topping their group with nine points as they pulled off four victories over Sweden, Chinese Taipei, Canada, and Hungary. Egypt suffered only one defeat by the defending champions France in their second game at the tournament.

They booked their place in the international tournament after claiming the African Championship title, held in Morocco, where they defeated Tunisia in the final game.

The African Champions made an ideal start to the tournament by defeating Sweden 32-29, before suffering a 28-24 defeat by holders France in the second game.
