Egypt to Clash against Hungary in World Championship

Egypt’s U19 handball national team will clash against Hungary in the final game of group stage at 2019 Men’s Youth World Championship in North Macedonia on Monday at 12:30 Pm(CLT).

The Pharaohs officially qualified for the last 16 after they demolished Canada with a 47-20 score during their encounter on Saturday. They were pooled in Group B alongside France, Hungary, Sweden, Canada, and Chinese Taipei,

Now, Egypt have six points in the fourth spot, following France (3rd), Hungary (2nd), and Sweden (1st).

They booked their place in the international tournament after claiming the African Championship title, held in Morocco, where they defeated Tunisia in the final game.

The African Champions made an ideal start to the tournament by defeating Sweden 32-29, before suffering a 28-24 defeat by holders France in the second game. The Pharaohs crushed Chinese Taipei in their third game with a 36-25 score on Friday.

They are looking forward to following the footsteps of Egypt’s U 20 team that achieved a bronze medal at the Men’s Junior U21 World Championship in Spain.

24 teams, who participated in this tournament, were pided into four groups of 6 teams.

Here are the Groups:

Group A: Croatia – Spain – Slovenia – Norway – Chile – Saudi Arabia.

Group B: Sweden – France – Hungary – Egypt – China – Canada.

Group C: Denmark, Bahrain, Macedonia, Japan, Argentina, and Nigeria.

Group D: Iceland, Germany, Serbia, Tunisia, Brazil, and Portugal.
