Egypt and Sudan signed an agreement for military cooperation, Tuesday, on the sidelines of the Egyptian Armed Forces' Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid to Khartoum.

During the signing ceremony, Sudanese army Chief of Staff Mohamed Othman al-Hussein said that the deal aims at achieving both countries' national security to build experienced armed forces. He also thanked Egypt for standing by Sudan in difficult times.

On his part, Farid affirmed that Cairo seeks to "consolidate ties and relations with Sudan in military and security fields and solidarity as a strategic approach within the framework of the regional and international environment."

It is worth mentioning that, Chief-of-Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces left Cairo on Monday, heading a high-ranking military delegation, to participate in the 7th meeting of the Egyptian-Sudanese Military Committee in Khartoum.
